I am sure, once in a lifetime you must have heard about rooting your smart device by one of your friends or by any random relative, who has an interest in exploring devices and its features.

Yes rooting is a simple process with which you can do many more such things.
So, let us understand in brief, what is rooting? And everything you need to know about rooting.

As we know, in a tree, root is the extreme end point. Similarly, by rooting our android device,we can reach to the extreme end of our system's software.

It means we can get full control over our smartphone's operating system , which is not possible

  6. You can also make your internal storage 100% free.
  7. You can install applications which requires rooted device.
  8. You can install advanced version of Android through other developers source.
  9. You can block, 'add in all applications'.
  10. You can boost your battery performance.

  1. After rooting your device, you will lose your smartphone's warranty. (few Chinese companies provide warranty even after rooting.)
  2. During rooting, any single mistake will leave your smartphone useless. (further it can be corrected, but only by experts.)
  3. By rooting you will lose android's security and your device will be very easy to hack.
  4. There will be no further official android update, for your device.
  5. With wrong settings, your device may slow down.
  6. Over clocking of processor may lead to overheating of your device. 

 How to root your smart phone without PC and without losing data?

  1.  First download the application 'root checker' in your smart phone to verify whether your smart phone is rooted or not.
  2. If your phone is not rooted, then it will show 'Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device'.
  3. Third step is to open Google and search “XDA Developer link” in your smart phone and go to the first link.
  4.   XDA website will get open, then scroll down and you will find an option 'Download king root 5.3.7', click on that.
  5. A new menu will appear, click on “Direct Download”.
  6. Then install the application. During installation, a warning will appear. To fix that →Go to settings of your phone and allow unknown sources to install the application.
  7. After installation, open the application and you will find an option 'No root permission root' just click on that and your smartphone rooting will start.

  9.    Now you can go to 'Root checker' application and you will find that your smartphone is rooted now.

How to root your smart phone with the help of PC without losing data?

  1. Go to the 'settings' of your smart phone.
  2.  Go to the 'About phone' and click on the 'Build number' 7-8 times, this will enable 'Developer option' in your smartphone.
  3.  Then go the 'Developers option' and enable the “USB debugging”.
  4. Now connect your smartphone with PC using USB cable.
  5.  Now in your PC, open Google and search 'Kingroot.net' and open that website.
  6.  Click on the 'Download for windows'.
  7. Since, the application will be in Chinese language so just click ‘next’ having  symbol ‘>’ and then click on the install.
  8. Open the software and your smart phone scanning will start.
  9.  After scanning. there will be an option ‘root’ in blue color box , just click on that and your smart phone's rooting will start.
  10. Go the 'Root checker' application in your phone and it will show, that your phone is rooted.
Note: If you don't have  'Root checker' application ,you can install it from play-store.

How to unroot your smart phone without using PC and without losing data?

If  you have rooted your phone using “Kingroot”  software, then follow these instructions.
  1. If you have rooted your phone using Kingroot, then there will be an application named 'Kingroot'.Open that.
  2. On the top, you will find 3 dots. Click on that.
  3. A menu will appear→ click on the 'general settings'.
  4. Scroll down you will find an option 'uninstall Kingroot'.
  5. Click on that option 'uninstall Kingroot'.
  6. Click on the 'continue' option.
  7. Now your phone in unrooted. You can check in the application 'Root checker'.
If you have rooted your smart phone using “SuperSu” software then follow this instruction.
  1. First, install one application from play store 'ES file manager'.
  2. Open the application 'ES file manager' and at the top you will find 3 lines to open side bar →click on that.
  3. In the side bar, scroll down. You will find options -'root explore' and 'show hidden files'.
  4.  Enable both of them.
  5. At the top, you will find there will be an option to select storage→ Select 'device'.
  6. Go  to system and then scroll down , there you will find a folder named 'xbin'.
  7. Open 'xbin' folder and from that, delete the file ‘SU’.
  8. Go back and open ‘apps’ folder and from that delete the file ‘SuperSU’.
  9. Now your phone is unrooted you can check using the  application 'Root checker'.
Note: If you don't have  'Root checker' application ,you can install it from play-store.

How to unroot your smart phone using PC without losing data?
  1.  In your PC, open Google and search 'download king root'
  2.  Download and install that software.
  3.  Connect your phone with PC using USB cable.
  4.  Open the software ‘King root’ in your PC.
  5. You will find an option 'Remove root', just click on that.
  6. Now your phone is unrooted you can check using  the application 'Root checker'.
Note: If you don't have 'Root checker' application ,you can install it from play-store.

Conclusion
According to me, you should not root your device because, almost all the necessary features are available in stock android, which you will get after rooting your device.

But, if you still feel that, some of the features are not available, then you can root your device at your own risk.
I would suggest that if you have an old device, which is no longer in use, then you should root that device, because, it is quite interesting to explore a rooted device.
